This homemade garlic bread can be cooked to be crispy or soft! For softer bread that is not as crispy on the outside, you can wrap your bread in foil. Just make sure the butter is completely melted on the inside.
I think the wording would have been better understood if you said to butter on each half of the bread. At first I too though you meant each side (top and bottom) I knew that was wrong and it should be each half or slice..
